Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist, and competing within the UFC flyweight division. She is the elder sister of the fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's professional career in combat sport began as a Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and then defeated Suzane Mller by unanimous vote. Antonina was able to follow it up, and won a silver medal in 2007 a bronze medal in 2008 a gold medal in 2011, and was the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia began her professional career with her debut in 2003. She was the winner of the World K-1 Championships of WKC Light Welterweight 2012, the Lightweight Lion Fight World Championships 2016, and the WMC World Championships and the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's final fight was with Isa Tiedblad Keskikangas, who was fighting at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko broke the professional MMA record in 2002 at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She was 3-0 after winning in the second round TKO. Her next two fights were won at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. Shevchenko dedicated herself to kickboxing, and took a long break in MMA. She came back in 2017, when she fought Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko beat Anissa through a unanimous decision, as well as defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. After leaving the league in 2018, Shevchenko joined Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko was able to take on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina's striking skills were superior and allowed her to TKO Nievera via knees in the lower body. Antonina Shevchenko received an UFC Contract after this victory. Antonina Shevchenko made her debut in UFC at the TUF Finals TUF Heavy Hitting fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko lost to Roxanne Modafferi via split decision after she won her debut fight. Antonina bounced back from losing to knock out Lucie Pudilova with a back-naked choke submission during the second round of UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned an extra fight in the evening for this bout. Shevchenko was 2-2 in her three subsequent matches she won over Ariane Lipski, while losing to Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina has been defeated recently by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
